Blue Ridge, GA Veterinarians

Dr. Garry A. Day, DVM - Chief of Staff

Blue Ridge, GA veterinarian

Dr. Garry Day is one of our veterinarians, co-owners and also the managing partner who takes care of the business aspect of our practice. He joined the practice in June of 1981 after graduating from the University of Tennessee. He is a member of the American and Georgia Veterinary Medical Associations.

Dr. Day grew up and attended high school in Copperhill, Tennessee. From an early age he became interested in science and medicine and chose the veterinary field after raising Golden Retrievers as a lad. At UT he majored in Animal Science and then was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine even before completing his undergraduate degree. He then returned “home” to practice.

Some of his favorite and most satisfying things about being a veterinarian include “practicing good quality medicine and seeing positive outcomes as a result, establishing long term relationships with clients and their pets, and helping Ocoee Animal Hospital grow from its inception as a small animal hospital in an underserved area into one of the premier practices in the region”.

Dr. Day enjoys spending time with his wife and best friend Linda, and as much time as he can with his two grown daughters, Emily and Laura. He and Linda currently have two spoiled cats named Striper and Tennessee. When not at work you might find him hiking, backpacking, swimming, scuba diving, exercising, traveling, watching college sports, or reading.

Dr. Miske was born and raised in upstate New York.

She graduated from veterinary school at the University of Tennessee in 1987.

She began practicing medicine in Blue Ridge, Georgia that same year.

Dr. Fran lives on a farm in Fannin County Georgia.

She has 8 horses, 9 dogs and numerous cats.

In her leisure time she enjoys cooking, traveling and horsemanship.

Dr. Philip Arnall, DVM

Blue Ridge, GA veterinarian

Dr. Arnall joined Ocoee Animal Hospital in 1992 and became a co-owner in 2003. His love for animals began when he was in 3rd grade and his family moved to the outskirts of a small town in middle Georgia. When a stray female German Shepherd mix showed up at the new home half-starved with a rusty chain around her neck, Philip gladly assumed responsibility for his very own first dog, Trudy. A natural “pack rat,” Dr. Arnall still has that rusty chain.

He attended the University of Georgia where he met his future wife, Lydia, in 1984. They married in 1988 before graduating from vet school there in Athens, GA in 1990. Philip’s appreciation for felines was initiated by a statement made by Lydia leading up to their wedding day - “We will have cats.” Emmaline, a Siamese/gray tabby cross was the first of many kittens rescued or adopted by the Arnalls.

Dr. Arnall enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice but especially the interaction with our wonderful clients and the exceptional staff at Ocoee Animal Hospital. His areas of interest include small animal surgery and dentistry.

Philip and Lydia have been blessed with 2 wonderful children – Darcy, 24, and Ethan, 20 with whom they love to travel on road trips, train rides and cruises in and around our great nation. When not at work, Dr. Arnall enjoys DIY projects, hiking, coin-collecting, and eating BLT sandwiches made with vine-ripened tomatoes picked from his garden every summer.

Dr. Deanna Belyeu, DVM

Blue Ridge, GA veterinarian

Dr. Belyeu is our associate veterinarian who joined the team in July 2000. Her education includes an undergraduate from Auburn University in Microbiology and Animal/Dairy Science in 1993 and 1995 before continuing to attend Auburn University for veterinary school, graduating Cum Laude in 2000. She’s a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association.

“Being a veterinarian is a journey,” Dr. Belyeu says. “Through my journey, I have grown in knowledge, personal strength, compassion and a desire to serve. My journey has its challenges, along with happy and sad times. I continue to be amazed at the wonderful relationships and the many incredible experiences I have been blessed to be a part of during this journey.”

Dr. Belyeu thanks her father, a retired veterinarian, for her inspiration and influence into the veterinary world. Because of his dedication and passion, alongside her childhood experiences, she is now in a professional field she loves. She also volunteered at the Fayetteville and Lynchburg Animal Clinics as a teenager and worked with research dogs and in the Auburn Small Animal Pharmacy.

At home, Dr. Belyeu and her spouse, Shannon, care for their four children and five pets. Their children, Analea, Austin, Teagan, and Walker, “are incredible children. They each bring their unique personalities to our family and we rarely have a dull moment.” Their five pets include three dogs, Atticus (a Chihuahua), Cash (a Labrador mix), and Yeti (Maltese mix), a domestic short-haired cat named Kona, and a Flemish giant rabbit named Mo. Dr. Belyeu’s interests include spending time with her family and friends, watching college (SEC) football, traveling, working in the yard, and visiting wineries and microbreweries.
