Deanna Belyeu, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Belyeu is our associate veterinarian who joined the team in July 2000. Her education includes an undergraduate from Auburn University in Microbiology and Animal/Dairy Science in 1993 and 1995 before continuing to attend Auburn University for veterinary school, graduating Cum Laude in 2000. She’s a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association.
“Being a veterinarian is a journey,” Dr. Belyeu says. “Through my journey, I have grown in knowledge, personal strength, compassion and a desire to serve. My journey has its challenges, along with happy and sad times. I continue to be amazed at the wonderful relationships and the many incredible experiences I have been blessed to be a part of during this journey.”
Dr. Belyeu thanks her father, a retired veterinarian, for her inspiration and influence into the veterinary world. Because of his dedication and passion, alongside her childhood experiences, she is now in a professional field she loves. She also volunteered at the Fayetteville and Lynchburg Animal Clinics as a teenager and worked with research dogs and in the Auburn Small Animal Pharmacy.
At home, Dr. Belyeu and her spouse, Shannon, are parent of four children and five pets. Their children, Analea, Austin, Teagan, and Walker, “are incredible young adults. They each bring their unique personalities to our family and we rarely have a dull moment.” Their five pets include three dogs, Atticus (a Chihuahua), Cash (a Labrador mix), and Yeti (Maltese mix), a domestic short-haired cat named Kona, and a Flemish giant rabbit named Mo. Dr. Belyeu’s interests include spending time with her family and friends, watching college (SEC) football, traveling, working in the yard, and visiting wineries and microbreweries.
